Paul McCartney (1962 E230TD, serial number 84075, with Bigsby B7, Shaded, converted to left-handed).The E230T Casino features the same construction as the E230TD, but has only one P-90 pickup in the center position. In mid-1965, nickel hardware was replaced with chrome and the nut was reduced in width, as with all other Gibson-produced models. In 1964, along with most other Epiphone models, the Casino received the 'hourglass' headstock that was in use for the remainder of the decade. By the end of the year, it featured nickel-covered P-90 pickups, an inlaid Epiphone logo on the headstock, and reverse parallelogram fretboard inlays. The tortoiseshell pickguard was also replaced with a multi-ply white version. Early examples included a brass headstock badge before being replaced with a silkscreen logo.
Upon its introduction, the Casino featured dot fretboard inlays, black plastic-covered P-90 pickups, a tortoiseshell pickguard, and a sloped dovewing headstock with Kluson Deluxe tuning machines with ivory buttons.
